To protect the integrity of MDDC's Ad Networks, new procedures for retrieving network ads became effective the week of October 10.
The new procedure requires a check-in from the production staff for each newspaper using an online form provided by MDDC. In response to each check-in received, MDDC will reply with a confirming email, and will then send an email that will include links to each week's network advertising after noon each Thursday.
This new check-in process will let MDDC know who at each paper is responsible for handling placement, will provide current contact information for each participant in each network, and provide verification of compliance for those papers that cooperate with this new protocol. This will mean that rebate payments of the revenue earned from each network will only be shared with those papers that were found through this process to be compliant, paying more money to papers that were fully supportive of the network and the association.
The new process will also mean network ads are also better protected from piracy of ads by unscrupulous agencies that steal advertising to pad their own publications. This type of practice has led to outdated advertising being run, angering advertising clients who have had to honor expired promotions, and it has compromised MDDC's networks and your rebate potential.
The new procedures were pilot-tested with several volunteers from member papers who reported the procedure was relatively simple. No passwords or logins are required. If you've experienced these problems, it is probably caused by cache or cookie errors in your browser. Please email Communications Manager Stephanie Wilder or Network Ad Manager Wanda Smith to help resolve this problem. If you have any other questions about this new procedure, please email Network Coordinator Wanda Smith or call her toll-free at 1-855-721-MDDC (6332), ext. 6.
