The Office of the Attorney General has a section of their website dedicated to Delaware's FOIA law. For the full text of the law, please click here.

The Office of the Attorney General provides online training slides and a manual for FOI Coordinators.

Many public bodies require a formal request for public records.  For Delaware State agencies, the Office of the Attorney General has provided an online form to faciliate communication.

Resolving Disputes

If disputes arise the requester should contact Kim Siegel, FOIA Coordinator, to discuss the situation.  She can be reached via fax at 302-577-5866 or via email at OpenGovernment@state.de.us.  By snail mail, the address is:
Delaware Department of Justice
Attn: Kim Siegel, FOIA Coordinator
820 N. French Street
Wilmington, DE 19801

All Attorney General opinions regarding FOIA are archived on the website and updated as available.

Common Records

Please use the links to navigate to common public records, where to find them and how to use them.

Delaware has three counties and many small towns, most of which are only a few hundred people. The Government Information Center offers small towns help with their websites, and about half of the towns use GIC sites for their public information. Every website has a link to a standard FOI form.

Bid Solicitation directory - central repository across all three branches of state government that have an open Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quote (RFQ), Invitation to Bid (ITB), and/or a Request for Proposal (RFP).  Awards archived since mid-2010.
