MDDC’s Classified Ad Network (CAN) is comprised of 113* community and regional newspapers and reaches 5.2 million readers* across Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia (see links at right for a list of participating newspapers). MDDC can also target your classified message to just the Maryland region, provide frequency pricing for your classified message, and it can place your ad in any other state advertising network at no additional cost above each state’s specific rate. Click here for more information on these options.

Rate and Deadline Information: $495.00 for one insertion of a 25-word classified ad, and $8.00 for each additional word over 25. Pre-payment and ad approval is required prior to all placements. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted. Ad content and payment must be received by noon Wednesday prior to the desired run week.

Run Dates: The ad will run in the participating weekly newspapers on the day they publish. It will run in the participating dailies on whichever day the newspaper chooses.

Proof of Publication: MDDC will provide an affidavit of insertion upon request. One tear sheet will be provided only if advertiser disputes ad accuracy.

Word Counts: Words are any one or more characters preceded and followed by a space. Up to three individual symbols such as ampersands may be used without counting against word count. Abbreviations and hyphenations must be customary. Exaggerated use of these devices to pad word limit will not be accommodated.

General Ad Standards: MDDC is not responsible for ad content beyond the application of standards governing permissible advertising language. Advertising will be rejected if it is determined to discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex or marital status except where legal restrictions prevail; or if it appears to be false, misleading, fraudulent, libelous, defamatory, illegal, in poor taste, in an objectionable format, or for other good cause as defined by MDDC. Individual newspapers have the right to reclassify, edit or reject advertising in compliance with their own standards of acceptance. Acceptance of advertising may be subject to reference checks. Other specific standards apply to certain categories of advertising. Click here for a full disclosure of terms and conditions.
