About the audit:

During the week of June 15, reporters from around the state visited government offices to gain access to a prescribed list of public records ranging from school superintendent contracts and sheriffs' expenses to nursing home inspections and school violence reports. The project was done by participating newspapers' reporters and supported through volunteer work. This site is hosted by the University of Maryland's College of Journalism.

The Public Information audit is the work of the Freedom of Information subcommittee of the Maryland Delaware D.C. Press Association. Committee members include co-chairs Tom Marquardt and Jim Keat, Jim Lee, Mike Powell and Gloria George. For more information, contact Tom Marquardt at 410-280-5953
