Associate Marketing Manager, Consumer Marketing, Washington Post, Washington DC

Marketing Operations and Retention Programs

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage outside vendors as well as internal departments to develop and implement consumer marketing programs to improve subscriber retention through telemarketing, direct mail, email and online channels. Specifically manage collection program, Easy Pay Programs, price increase and email collection programs.
  • Working with loyalty program manager, manage day to day promotions and assist in development and implementation of subscriber only benefits under the PostPoints program umbrella for Washington Post subscribers as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison between the customer contact center, field managers and consumer marketing managers for program implementation as well as management of special projects.
  • Forecast and mange Retention Marketing budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements include:

  • Ability to learn and thoroughly understand the Circulation Marketing rate/coding structures; and understand DSI subscription processing requirements;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are critical for this position. Must be able to write creatively on a wide range of subjects;
  • Knowledge of email marketing and online marketing to consumers, including social media;
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability in defining and undertaking work assignments with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail required;
  • Evidence of good judgment, creativity, inquisitiveness, and perseverance in past work or educational experience;
  • Ability to collect, analyze, manipulate and synthesize data;
  • Ability to manage work independently and effectively, consistently re-prioritizing a dynamic workload. (Strong project management skills.);
  • Flexibility and a 'make it work' mentality are vital to succeeding in this role;
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and business partners;
  • Excellent computer skills with experience with Mircrosoft Word and Excel;
  • College degree required;
  • 3-5 years of experience with marketing programs to consumers.
