The circulation program "Subscribers: How to Get Them, How to Keep Them" will include information on marketing for home delivery and single copy success, co-existing with the Internet, reversing the national decline in service, and meeting the recruitment challenge. The "Advertising Revenue Challenge" session will include a panel of top advertising authorities to discuss preprints vs. ROP vs. direct mail, the impact of the Internet, how newspapers remain competitive, and the elusive young audience. Returning again this year will be the popular Legal Roundtable featuring MDDC Hotline Attorney Alice Lucan and other media lawyers addressing the current hot topics in media law, as well as answering questions from the audience. The MDDC advertising, circulation, government affairs and technology committees will meet Thursday before the Board of Directors meeting. For fun, the convention will also include a Texas Cookout, the Libel Hotline Bike Ride, Past Presidents Reception and Dinner with music from Windfall, the annual golf tournament, and hospitality suites Thursday and Friday nights.
