Morton and Marsella Join 2001 Convention Lineup; Register Now |
| The 2001 MDDC Summer Convention will tackle
the challenges of running a newspaper during changing financial times with top
presentations from John Morton, Tony Marsella and Ken Blum. Plan to join MDDC Sept. 6-8 at
the Tidewater Inn in Easton to learn from the experts and enjoy some fun on the Eastern
Shore. Register for the convention with MDDC before the Aug. 30 deadline, so you dont miss out. The convention includes a special Thursday session featuring industry management expert Ken Blum, who will speak on managing newspapers in tough financial times. Two more speakers have just been added to the convention lineup. Tony Marsella, vice president of classified marketing for the Newspaper Association of America, will start Friday with a motivational talk on service in the newspaper business. Newspaper consultant John Morton, considered by many to be the nations leading newspaper analyst will speak on "The State of the Newspaper Business" at Fridays lunch.. Other convention programs include the popular Legal Roundtable and sessions covering circulation, technology and advertising. For fun, the convention includes a reception and cookout at the Museum of Eastern Shore Life and special entertainment at the Friday dinner. Other activities are the Past Presidents reception sponsored by Kruger Pulp and Paper Sales, an Ice Cream Break sponsored by the Associated Press, and hospitality suites Thursday and Friday, sponsored by American Profile Magazine. The convention will wrap up with the annual golf tournament Saturday. |
