New Board Members for MDDC |
| The MDDC Board of Directors at its July 19
meeting elected two new members to fill vacancies on the Board. Kathryn Sinzinger was elected to the Board to fill the unexpired term of Elaine Brady, who resigned earlier this year. Sinzinger, editor and publisher of The Common Denominator in Washington, DC, is a member of the MDDC FOI Subcommittee. She founded her weekly newspaper in 1998 after serving as a Washington correspondent for newspapers in California, New York and Ohio. Wiley A. Hall III, newly named executive editor of The Afro-American Newspapers, was elected to fill the term of Tammy Hawley, former executive general manager of The Afro-American. Hawley left the paper to take a position with the NAACP. Hall was a columnist for The Evening Sun for a decade until the paper folded in 1995. More recently, he had been director of communications for Morgan State University. Tom Linthicum, director of organization development at The Baltimore Sun, announced at the July 19 meeting that he has taken early retirement from The Sun leaving a new vacancy on the Board. His spot had not been filled at press time. |
