New Faces at MDDC Press Service

By Cheryl Spriggs
Advertising Director

I know this time of year with its progression of early deadlines and holiday advertising is always a hectic one for the newspaper business.
We here at the MDDC Advertising Department are extremely aware of early deadlines at newspapers and make every effort to schedule ads in a timely manner in accordance with the policy of each newspaper. It is imperative, however, that you pass on information regarding any unusual situation that may be occurring at your newspaper so we are able to alert our clients. The following personnel are involved with the process of selling and scheduling advertising into your newspaper.
Patsy Coleman, who joined us on Nov. 27, is the new media planner/buyer. Patsy brings experience from both the ad agency side and from the newspaper side as a former employee of Chesapeake Publishing. She is responsible for developing marketing strategies and new sales prospects, as well as estimates for established clients. She will also work in tandem with me to develop new business for our newspapers. I am certain you will all get to know Patsy soon as we go about the business of scheduling ads into your paper. Patsy can be reached at (410) 721-5115, extension 208.
Kathy Tracy is our advertising network specialist. She is in charge of selling and scheduling advertising into our classified network of 114 newspapers and our 2x2 network of 90 newspapers. Kathy is at extension 204.
Pattie Taylor, our new tearsheet coordinator, is in the process of revamping the tearsheet department. We are putting into place a more efficient system of logging and tracking tearsheets. We depend on our member newspapers to provide us with the tearsheets and one missing tearsheet can delay payment for all papers.
We here at the MDDC Advertising Department are an extension of your sales team and we hope you consider us as such.
Please feel free to contact me at extension (410) 721-5115, extension 209 with any questions, suggestions or comments.
