Papers Sought for Minority Internships |
| In 2000, the New York Newspaper Publishers
Association and the National Association of Minority Media Executives (NAMME), created
Inside Track: Careers in Newspapers. Inside Track is a program to recruit minority college students for paid summer internships at daily newspapers. Since its start, 32 students have held business-side internships at daily newspapers throughout the East Coast. The students worked in advertising, marketing, production, circulation, information technology, accounting/finance and human resources. NAMME invites any interested newspapers to participate in Inside Track during the summer of 2002. Names and resumes of prospective students will be sent to interested newspapers starting in January. To participate in the program, contact Margaret Woodward the Inside Track program administrator at (201) 871-9578 or mwoodward23@hotmail.com. |
