JAWS group forming in Baltimore

The first gathering of the Baltimore Journalism and Women Symposium - JAWS – chapter will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday May 4 held at Points South Latin Kitchen, 1640 Thames St. in Fells Point, 21231. Our guest speaker with be Rebecca Snyder, executive director of the Maryland Delaware DC Press Association who will discuss reporting in the era of Trump, media access and the ins and outs of being a woman in the press.

What is JAWS?

JAWS is a nonprofit and nonpartisan national group of female journalists who seek to empower and support women in journalism and work toward a more accurate portrayal of society. The group offers scholarships to college students and has an annual convention in the fall. It offers a unique level of professional networking, support and individual mentoring all year long on a very active listserve and through the fall CAMP. Please join us for our first gathering here in Baltimore. There will be a variety of small plate appetizers served @ $20 pp and a cash bar.
