As many of you are aware, the MDDC Advertising Committee
oversees the Associations advertising department. During the April meeting of the
Advertising Committee the decision was made to form two new subcommittees, a Classified
Subcommittee and a Programming Subcommittee. The classified group will make recommendations for improving MDDCs classified advertising network. Initially this committee will focus on increasing classified network ad sales participation from member newspapers. The following newspaper professionals will serve on the Classified Subcommittee: Chairperson, Val Kurapaka, classified manager, Washington Times Steve Stouffer, advertising director, Cumberland Times-News Art Dwight, advertising director, Gazette Newspapers Jennifer Morris, classified ad manager, Thomson Chesapeake Denise Ingraham, classified ad manager, Hagerstown Herald-Mail Diane Ferguson, classified ad manager, Chesapeake Publishing, Easton The Programming Subcommittee will evaluate and suggest program content for MDDC workshops and conventions, including potential speakers and training needs. The following newspaper managers are members of the Programming Subcommittee: Chairperson, Ron Sweeney, ad agency relations manager, Washington Post Joey Vance, corporate accounts director, Chesapeake Publishing Denise Brady, display ad manager, Frederick News-Post Dwight Hanna, director of advertising, Patuxent Publishing Darel La Prade, advertising director, Independent Newspapers Inc.
