| Plan now to come to the mountains of Western Maryland for the MDDC
Press Association’s Summer Convention, Sept. 7 – 9 at the Rocky Gap Lodge and
Golf Resort. Several top speakers are being invited to compliment a full program of sessions on leading industry issues in the areas of technology, advertising, circulation and freedom of information. The annual legal roundtable will feature a panel of expert media attorneys addressing libel, newsgathering, Internet issues and answering your questions. There also will be plenty of opportunities for fun.Thursday will include the "Hotline" Bike Ride and a country cookout. The Past Presidents’ Reception will be Friday evening, followed by the convention dinner and entertainment. The annual golf outing will be held Saturday morning. Rocky Gap, located near Cumberland, also includes plenty of outdoor and adventure activities such as hiking, fishing, and boating, plus a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. There are a number of nearby historic sites, as well as antique shopping in Cumberland. Room rate for the convention is $125 single/double with a $3 state park fee.
