Profile: George E. Randall

     Randall.jpg (5175 bytes) George, a great-grandson of the Frederick News-Post’s founder, is currently vice president and general manager of the paper and general counsel for Great Southern Printing & Manufacturing Company and subsidiaries. Before joining the News-Post in 1982, he taught school in Virginia and gained newspaper experience as a reporter for four years at the Lynchburg News in Lynchburg, VA. He also spent five summers as an intern photojournalist with the News-Post. Since joining the paper, George has spearheaded automation of newspaper inserts and total pagination of the newspapers. He is a past president and served on the MDDC Board.

Born Aug. 5, 1950. Married to Betsy; daughter Cecilia.

BA in History from Lynchburg College, MA in Journalism from Ball State University, Juris Doctor from University of Puget Sound.

Biggest challenge of job: "Growing circulation."
