MDDC Seeks Advertising Director
Chuck Boteler, who has led the MDDC Press Association’s advertising programs for the past four years, has resigned effective June 30 to establish a freelance media planning/consulting business.
The Association is seeking an experienced advertising sales executive to replace Boteler.
"Chuck was instrumental in building our MDDC Ad Placement Service (MAPS) and our 2x2 advertising network into the successes they have become," said MDDC Executive Director Jim Donahue. "He has done an excellent job for us, and we wish him the very best."
The new director should have a minimum of five years experience in newspaper ad sales or agency print-media buying, said Donahue. "We are looking, first and foremost, for a crackerjack sales person," he said, "but that person should also be excited by the opportunity to work closely with member newspapers in a wide variety of Association advertising endeavors."
Senior Media Planner Kay Blackmon, the number two person in MDDC’s ad department, has decided against seeking the director’s job. Until a new director is on board, Blackmon will serve as acting ad manager.
