MDDC Heads to the Beach |
| MDDC is heading to Ocean City for the Annual
Convention September 5-7. Join us oceanfront at the Princess Royale Hotel for informative
programs sessions, networking with colleagues and plenty of fun, sun and sand. This will mark the first time in five years the MDDC convention has been held in Ocean City. As always, the convention willfeature top speakers on current newspaper issues, program sessions focusing on advertising, technology and freedom of information challenges and more. "Were planning a convention that we think will appeal to a broad segment of the MDDC membership," said Convention Chairman Jeff Mezzatesta, publisher of The Cecil Whig. "Well maintain our usual emphasis on serious business matters that have marked this convention in recent years, but were also building in some time Thursday and Friday afternoons for folks to relax and enjoy the beach atmosphere." The convention will get underway Thursday afternoon with committee meetings and a meeting of the Board of Directors. They will be followed by an oceanfront cookout at the Princess Royale. Following the Friday sessions will be the Past Presidents Reception and the convention dinner, featuring entertainment. The convention will close Saturday with the annual golf tournament held at the Bay Clubs East course in nearby Berlin. Room rate for the convention is $109 for oceanview/poolview suites. Be sure to request your preference. Contact the Princess Royale directly at 1-800-4-ROYALE by Aug. 4 and be sure to mention the MDDC Press Association to obtain the rate. Convention registration and program information will be mailed soon. |
