National Student/Parent Mock Election Set for October 30th
The National Mock Election, which takes place Oct. 30, is an effort by the nonprofit National Student/Parent Mock Election (NSPME) to give students from kindergarten to advanced placement/college levels a chance to learn, through simulated experience, about democracy and the voting process. Please consider publicizing this national effort in your publication.
Student voters cast ballots for members of Congress, for Senators where there is a race, and for Governors where there is a race. They also express their views on timely issues. The NSPME provides free resources, suggested activities and curriculum guides for teachers. The national mock election also partners with respected civics and education groups to award schools that make the most of their NSPME experience.
