The MDDC Press Association and 13 member newspaper companies have sought court permission
to join in the appeal of a Maryland court decision that would severely restrict who can
bring suit under the state's Open Meetings Act.

The National Newspaper Association Sept. 29 urged the Postal Rate Commission to make sure
negotiated service agreements, if they are to happen at all, are available to small
mailers.
