• Training local journalists in their “watchdog” role, to do the investigative reporting in your communities that exposes waste, corruption and injustices.

• Fighting for open government so you can see when it works well, and when it doesn’t, and so that decisions that affect your life are not hidden by bureaucracy and back-door politics.

• Educating the public on how the First Amendment serves you, so that the rights of Free Speech and Free Press are never taken for granted.

• Sponsoring internships and scholarships so today's students can be the bedrock for tomorrow's quality journalism.
